Wenco International Mining Systems Ltd. is excited to announce a contract with Imperial Metals Corporation to supply the Mount Polley mine with the Wenco Fleet Management System and Mobile Supervisor Terminals.

Mount Polley is an open pit copper and gold mine with a developing underground project, located in south-central British Columbia. The mine began operations in 1997 and currently processes 20,000 tonnes of ore per day with an expected mine life extending to 2025.

Wenco hardware will be installed on 27 vehicles including 6 shovels and 19 haul trucks. Mobile Supervisor Terminals will be placed on two pickup trucks for control of the operation from within the pit. The Wenco system is expected to increase the accuracy of the mine’s material handling while providing supervisors with information for more effective utilization of the available equipment, resulting in higher production.

“Wenco is extremely pleased to partner with Mount Polley. This is a growing mine and the Wenco FMS is designed to easily expand to meet future needs as they add additional equipment,” explains Wenco Vice President of Sales and Marketing Glen Trainor. “In addition to providing fleet management systems, Wenco has a full suite of scalable specialized products such as our Mobile Supervisor Terminal to meet the needs of mines of all sizes.”
