Ontario

Producing more than $10 billion worth of minerals per year, Ontario has a distinct presence in the mining community. This province has experienced a number of gold rushes and mineral discoveries in its history, and has a wealth of potential for the future as well. Northern Ontario is known for its metallic minerals—including gold, platinum, copper and zinc—while southern Ontario produces a plentiful supply of non-metallic minerals, such as lime, salt and gypsum.
